M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust
Reimagining the User Experience
When a regional grant funding luminary needed an overhaul to their online presence, Serenity came through. M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust is one of the largest organizations of its kind in the U.S., they have funded over $1B to nonprofits across the Pacific Northwest in their 44-year history. Having just moved into a beautiful new building on the Columbia River, it was time to similarly upgrade their digital home.
Primary Project Goals
Solidify the Trust’s brand voice and bring their mission and offerings to the forefront
Serve a wide variety of fresh, valuable content to new and returning visitors
Improve the user experience to allow different audiences to find the information they are seeking more efficiently
Reimagine the aesthetic treatment of the site with modest additions and adjustments to the brand
Serenity Studios has an eye not only for beautiful design, but intuitive navigation, and their team helped us think through how we could improve our website experience for our users by getting them to where they need to be, faster and more efficiently. The result is a website that is streamlined, easy to digest, and gets our grantees to the information they need in fewer clicks.
Grants & Communication Associate, M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust
A much-improved Grants Awarded database (faster, more detailed, more useful)
A robust Nonprofit Resources Library that logically organizes the Trust’s extensive nonprofit development content
Sector Landing Pages that describe how the Trust serves specific nonprofit areas
Improved blog organization and layout, including clearer delineation between blog posts and standard pages
Stronger use of relevant photography throughout the site
Improved site responsiveness and performance
Over nine years in strategic communications I’ve been exposed to a number of agency partnerships. Without question, the team at Serenity Studios represents the Gold Standard of service. We began working with Serenity on a short runway, one-off project and have quickly integrated them into nearly every aspect of our digital work, most recently a redesign of our website, because their work is just too incredible.
